My R+F Story

I began using R+F skincare June 2017. I had tried numerous products to clear up the dark pigmentation aka melasma I had developed during pregnancy with my daughter. Boy do I regret not taking a “before” picture to show you how bad it was. My final resort was to visit my dermatologist. After examining my skin, she told me the only thing that would effectively clear up the discoloration and dark brown patches on my face, would be, bleach. She then continued by saying it was extremely harsh and she did not recommend it. Um, okay. Thanks—I think. I began researching and found forums of others who had tried R+F solely due to wanting to clear up melasma. It was a no brainer. I searched for a consultant and purchased my first regimen. REVERSE Brightening.

Within a few weeks, I began noticing a difference. However, within a few months I was definitely liking the results. Those embarrassing dark brown patches were clearing up and my overall skin-tone was practically glowing. Unfortunately, another issue arose. Months into using the products, I began experiencing what I thought was an allergic reaction. I had small red bumps all over my chin and forehead. Covering it up with makeup only made it 100x worse. I reached out to my consultant (at the time) and was told it was probably just a “purge cycle” and the small bumps would clear up. They didn’t. Even though my melasma issue was resolved, I didn’t like the bumps I saw on my face so I threw in the towel and cancelled my preferred customer (PC) membership after a year.

Not too long after, a friend of mine became a consultant after being introduced to lash boost. As we all know, that friend of mine began to flood my social media with before and after pictures. She would post about new products and success stories and of course threw one of those R+F parties. You know—the parties where there are drinks and appetizers to get you all buttered up to buy the products? Joking—well not really. That is the point. But what company/business doesn’t do that? Being in sales for most of my adult life, I know and completely understand the importance behind those very events.

I actually only attended the party to show my friend support on her new venture. But to be honest, I had zero intentions of purchasing any products (aside from lash boost), that stuff is liquid gold!

When I entered her home, I was quite impressed and a little overwhelmed with how many different products R+F had to offer. After listening to the presentation, I was practically trying to sell the products to other women there. I did in fact state my truthful experience as to how the products did not work for me (AT FIRST) and that I thought I must have some unknown allergy to one or some of the ingredients. But, the money back guarantee is no joke. It was SO EASY to return the products and receive every single penny back. No questions asked.

Everyone I have spoken to who has given R+F a go, has loved the products. For whatever reason, I was the only one (known to me) to have experienced the reaction I did. So with that, I encouraged others to try it for themselves…and if it didn’t work out, they had me as proof that they would be reimbursed every cent.

If you don’t love the results, return the products. If you can no longer afford it, cancel your membership. If you are not in need of a replenishment shipment, postpone it. Honestly, R+F make it pretty simple.

I left the party signing back up as a Preferred Customer. The reason behind signing back up was to simply order lash boost again, as I was running low. However, my sweet friend (also next door neighbor) got to thinking that perhaps I had sensitive skin and could benefit by trying the SOOTHE regimen first. This regimen is known to build a protective layer on the skin to be able to withstand the other regimens in the future. I kindly said no, not interested. Thanks but no thanks.

But somehow, someway the SOOTHE regimen showed up on my doorstep. Yep, you guessed it. That crazy R+F consultant aka my friend purchased it for me. I remember thinking, ugh, just great. Alright, so I did not pay for it, but I was still reluctant to try it. No way did I want the same tiny bumps all over my face like before. I texted her stating if I have one breakout…just ONE, I would not continue. She understood. And so it began…my Rodan and Fields journey.

Truth be told, I loved and still love the SOOTHE regimen. This time around no bumps, no breakouts, my skin was soft, redness was gone, and my overall skin just looked awesome, seriously.

Then those darn before and after pics on social media caught my attention even more than before. My friend would post daily and it worked! I slowly began purchasing more product. She got me!

Now my daily regimen is:

MORNING

SOOTHE + Active Hydration Serum + Multi-Function Eye Cream + Active Hydration Body Replenish

NIGHT

REDEFINE + Active Hydration Serum + Multi-Function Eye Cream + Active Hydration Body Replenish + LASH BOOST

Who would have thought I would fall in love with all these products? Had it not been for the persistence of my friend, and guiding me towards the right products for my skin, I would not be walking around makeup free most of the time. I began receiving compliments almost weekly on my complexion and most importantly my lashes! Some women experience hair loss after pregnancy. Not me. I really only just lost my lashes…like they began falling out daily. After about 10 weeks of using lash boost, I knew it would be a game changer for me. My friends and complete strangers asked if they were false and I immediately directed them to my consultant and friend to purchase the product.

Then like any normal person would do, I asked myself, “Why don’t I become a consultant and direct people to ME?” I did not expect to replace my income as an insurance agent by doing this, I just thought maybe JUST MAYBE whatever commission I made could pay for the products I am already buying. Honestly, I did not set my bar all that high. Now looking back, that was the absolute wrong way to look at it. I’ve always talked about the importance of multiple streams of income. Insurance (my primary job), Real Estate Investing, and now Rodan + Fields. 3 streams of income is better than one, right?

Right.

So here I am. Now a consultant for what I feel is truly life changing skincare. Who doesn’t want to feel confident in their own skin? Who doesn’t want to feel just as beautiful when the makeup is washed off? I believe that everyone deserves this. Currently, being in a sales position, I did not think I could or would even want to take on another sales position. But after attending R+F events and being around some pretty incredible women (most working other jobs and raising children) I thought, lets do this and see where this takes me and my family. After all, spreading the word and making others feel beautiful, doesn’t feel much like sales at all.
