What the day meant…
I woke up to my daughter sleeping on my chest, my best friends daughter, Miah tip toeing into my room to sneak on the bed and snuggle. My husband then coming in from cleaning the kitchen (from the festivities the night before) while singing happy birthday at the top of his lungs, and us all smiling and laughing!
Once I went out to the spic and span kitchen (just the way I like it), I was greeted by a bouquet of flowers, a sweet handwritten card, coffee, and sweet bread. It was such a beautiful start to the day. Spent a little more time with my best friend Nichol right before they all headed off to spend the day at Disneyland.
Then the rest of the afternoon was spent lunching and sipping on some good beer and wine with my hubby, sister, and brother-in-law. Giuliana was there too but she was throwing back a bottle of milk instead. The evening was then finished hanging with my grandparents and parents. All sitting around exchanging smiles and laughter over coffee, dessert, and champagne. Honestly, it was just perfect.
As each birthday passes, I realize it’s not all about how many people show up for you, the party that is thrown, or the gifts that are received. What means the most to me these days is simply enjoying what the day meant with the people who made you their special priority—which is usually family and friends who have become family.
33 is going to be a great year no matter which way you look at it because we make life what we want it to be. I was showered with love and am grateful for what the day was. Feeling much appreciation for my loved ones.
As I climbed into bed, I finished reading all the text messages and social media posts that were sent to me. Felt so special and loved by so many people. A big thank you to each and every single one of you!
