- Life isn’t a competition. Everyone’s timeline is different and if you aren’t where you thought you would be at this age, it’s not the end of the world. In the meantime, be excited for the success of others, yours will come.
- Spending your hard earned money at happy hour doesn’t sound like a smart idea anymore. At least not 4-5 days a week. Saving is more important.
- The car you drive does not define you. What’s more significant is the money you have in the bank.
- It’s okay to say “no” to invites. You do not have to commit to every event you are invited to. People will get over it. Sacrificing yourself almost never turns out to be a good thing so do not overextend yourself. If you don’t have time, you don’t have time.
- Traveling humbles you and makes you a better person.
- Gossiping is ugly and displays lack of character. If you hear a rumor do not repeat it.
- Don’t care what others think of you. Be who you are and don’t apologize for it.
- Know who you are able to trust, who you shouldn’t trust, and not to take any of that personally.
- Your childhood may not have been perfect but it’s over. Move on and stop placing blame on certain people for things you can’t change.
- Your body is sacred. Take care of it. Just eating right doesn’t cut it anymore. You need to put in work.
- Know when you should try harder and when you need to just walk away.
- A solid understanding of what your dream job might be. Do all necessary things to get there and enjoy the journey.
- The need to start saving for retirement.
- Know who should be your equal and make sure it’s someone that makes you a better YOU.
- You get what you pay for so stop buying the cheap stuff just to save a dime.
- There is always a lesson to be learned in any situation.
- If you want to be successful, hang around successful people.
- You and only you are responsible for every action and decision you make in life and you are where you are at this exact moment because of those choices.
- I should have paid more attention in school about “certain” subjects.
- Stick to what you know is right.
- Integrity is your most valuable asset.
- Family is the most important thing in life. They will be the only people who stand by you through thick and thin. As much as I hate to admit it, friends come and go.
- Have a dream and follow it. Know that your dreams can and should change with age.
- The only thing to fear is fear itself.
- Be kind. You never know what someone is personally dealing with.
- It’s all who you know so network and build relationships with everyone!
- You are not the clothes or brands you wear.
- Perfection is boring.
- Always do your best and you will be satisfied with the results.
- Give more than you receive.
Definitely not in any specific order but all of the above are so very important to me “now” at 30. Can’t wait to see where I am at 40. Ready to ROCK this next decade of my life!
